Ian Ashman is a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Human Resource Management at the Lancashire Business School, University of Central Lancashire in the UK.
His latest research and writing has concentrated on business ethics, ‘emotion work’ and leadership, generally drawing upon his interest in the application of existentialist philosophy. He has published articles recently in Business Ethics: A European Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Leadership and Management Research News.
His article ‘Business ethics and
existentialism’, co-authored with Diana Winstanley and published
in Business Ethics: A European Review (Vol. 15, No. 3, 218-233) was selected
as one of the fifty best articles published in 2006 in management and winner
of an Emerald Management Reviews Citation of Excellence.
Apart from being on the EBEN-UK Executive, Ian is a member of the British
Academy of Management and participates in their CSR special interest group.
